Child and Adolescent Therapy
Dr. Vice Downing offers psychotherapy services to address a range of mental health concerns.
Approach: Dr. Vice Downing generally uses a cognitive-behavioral approach to psychotherapy. Specifically, she focuses on the ways in which children think and behave in response to their life experiences. Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is an evidence-based treatment approach for children and adolescents with depression, anxiety, PTSD, OCD, and many other mental health conditions. At times, Dr. Vice Downing may also incorporate Exposure Therapy. Exposure therapy is when individuals gradually face feared situations in a safe environment.
Dr. Vice Downing's approach is friendly, professional, and focused on providing the best possible care for each of her clients. She works actively with parents and legal guardians, and provides as-needed consultation to schools, primary care providers, and legal professionals throughout the treatment process.
