Rates and Insurance
Dr. Vice Downing works primarily as an out-of-network provider for mental health services (also referred to as "Behavioral Health"). She will gladly provide each patient a detailed invoice ("superbill") to be submitted to his/her insurance company for reimbursement. Payment is due at the time of service and can be made with cash, check, or debit/credit card. Health Savings Accounts (HSA) and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) can be a great way to pay for mental health services.

Sliding Fee Scale: Dr. Vice Downing recognizes that not everyone can afford mental health services. As such, a sliding fee scale is available on a limited basis for those who would otherwise be unable to pay for services and can demonstrate financial hardship. Please contact the clinic for more information about the availability of a sliding fee scale.
No Surprises Act/Good Faith Estimate: As of of January 2023, healthcare providers are required by law to give clients who are not using insurance or do not have insurance an estimate of the expected cost of medical services. Under the "No Surprises Act," you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of your mental health services. If applicable to you, prior to starting services at Three Sisters Psychology, you will receive a Good Faith Estimate that you can access at any time via the medical record system. If you receive a bill that is $400 or more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. For questions or more information, please click here.
