Dr. Sara Vice Downing is an expert in the treatment of trauma, anxiety, and other related disorders using evidence-based interventions. She specializes in treating children and adolescents. Dr. Vice Downing completed her doctoral training at Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio, with an emphasis in child psychology. She completed her pre-doctoral internship at the UC Davis CAARE Center in Sacramento, CA, where she also completed a specialized postdoctoral fellowship in evidence-based assessment and treatment of PTSD and related concerns in children and adolescents. She has received extensive training in cognitive, behavioral, and exposure-based therapies, including Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT).
In addition to therapy, Dr. Vice Downing conducts comprehensive psychological assessments for children, adolescents, and adults with suspected developmental and learning disabilities, ADHD, and emotional and behavioral disorders.
Outside of the Office: When Dr. Vice Downing is not in the office, she enjoys spending time with her husband (who is also a psychologist) and her young son. She loves to read and you may find her hiking local trails, skiing Hoodoo, or kayaking at Suttle Lake.
